DEHUMID II® IS A PATENTED* SYSTEM FOR THE ADDITIONAL DEHUMIDIFICATION OF AIR, WHICH
CAN BE APPLIED TO MOST MANUFACTURER’S PACKAGED AIR CONDITIONERS AND
HEAT PUMPS.
THE MOST COMMON APPLICATION OF DEHUMID II® IS AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE THRU-WALL ROOM AIR PACKAGED AIR CONDITIONER, COMMERCIALLY REFERRED TO AS A PACKAGED TERMINAL AIR CONDITIONER (PTAC) OR PACKAGED TERMINAL
HEAT PUMP (PTHP). THESE UNITS ARE
TYPICALLY INSTALLED IN HOTELS, NURSING HOMES, ASSISTED LIVING AND SENIOR
HOUSING.
DEHUMID II® IS A TRUE REFRIGERATION CYCLE, THAT RESULTS IN A COLDER SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF THE INDOOR AIR (EVAPORATOR) COIL. THIS RESULTS IN A 35 – 50% INCREASE IN MOISTURE REMOVAL
FROM THE RE-CIRCULATED INDOOR ROOM AIR (UP TO 3 ADDITIONAL GALLONS PER DAY) WHEN COMPARED TO MOST MAJOR BRANDS OF
AIR CONDITIONERS AND HEAT PUMPS.

DEHUMID II® UTILIZES NEW TECHNOLOGIES LIKE MICRO-CHANNEL ALUMINUM, RIFLED AND TURBO PIPING AND EARTH FRIENDLY R-410A REFRIGERANT, FOR THE HEAT EXCHANGER HX-2.

AFTER THE R-410A IS CONDENSED WITH MINIMAL SUB-COOLING
4 – 6 F, IT ENTERS THE DEHUMID II® LIQUID SUB-COOLING/AIR REHEATINGHEAT EXCHANGER AND IS FURTHER SUB-COOLED
TOTALING FROM 20 TO 40 F. DEHUMID II® TRANSFERS HEAT
FROM THE WARM REFRIGERANT LIQUID TO THE COLDER THAN
NORMAL AIR STREAM LEAVING HX-1 THE EVAPORATOR COIL.
THIS SUB-COOLED LIQUID REFRIGERANT ENTERS HX-1 EVAPORATOR
BY WAY OF THE EXPANSION DEVISE (TYPICALLY CAPILLARY TUBES).
BECAUSE OF SUB-COOLING THE HX-1 EVAPORATOR CAPACITY IS INCREASED AND THE PRESSURE-TEMPERATURE FALLS, COOLING THE AIRFLOW ABOUT 4 F. REMOVING MUCH MORE MOISTURE THAN CONVENTIONAL SYSTEMS.
THE AIR BEING DISCHARGED INTO THE ROOM BY THIS PROCESS IS
MUCH DRIER, CREATING A MORE COMFORTABLE ROOM
CONDITION AND MOLD AND MILDEW PROBLEMS ARE PREVENTED.
MOST OF THE PTAC UNITS MANUFACTURED TODAY ARE
COMPROMISED TO OPERATE IN ALL CLIMATE CONDITIONS FOUND IN
